Samuel Douglas Hopkins, 84, of Eden went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, June 27, 2022 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1-2pm, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
Samuel was born May 29, 1938 in Leaksville, NC, to the late Burch and Julie Hopkins. He worked at Fieldcrest Mills until retiring after over 25 years of service. Samuel loved to spend time with his family and loved to fish.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Cathy Watkins (Randy) of Eden; son, Wayne Hopkins (Teresa) of Stoneville; brother, James Hopkins of Mayodan; sisters, Diane Hazelwood (Tom) of Eden, Kay Hazelwood of Eden; four grandchildren, Amanda Carter, Melanie Kennon, Wayne Hopkins, Jr., Heather O’Bryant; six great-grandchildren, Cailin and Landon Carter, R.J. and Gage Kennon, Ethan and Brennan O’Bryant.
In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Carter Hopkins; brother, Bodie Hopkins; sisters, Billie Jean Hopkins, Pat Freeman, Deedle Corum, Barbara Ann Carter, Tootie Dillion, Margaret Hayden.
