Bobby Lee McBride, 80, left this earthly life, Monday, January 1, 2024, at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Stokes.

Bobby was a life-long resident of Stokes County. He was born April 23, 1943, to the late George and Mabel White McBride. He was a self-employed farmer and logger. He enjoyed dirt track racing, gardening, helping those in need, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Bobby was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will greatly be missed.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a son Tracy Lee McBride; brothers Sonny McBride, Bill McBride; sisters Elsie Morton, Joann Carter and great-grandson Buxton Cain Fulp.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Brenda East McBride; daughters Vicky (Ricky) Wilson, Bobbie Joe (Timmy) Mabe; Son, Jamie (Tasha) McBride; grandchildren Justin (Laura) Mabe, Caleb (Breanna) Fulp; Megan (Jacob) Bullins, Jamison McBride, Lexi McBride, Josh (Brittany) Wilson; great-granddaughters Bailey Thompson, Hadley Mabe, Bristol Wilson; great-grandsons Camryn Wilson, Xander Wilson. Also left to cherish Bobby’s memory are sisters Frances Atkins, Shirley Shelton, Bonnie Kendrick; sister-in-law Hilda McBride; brother-in-law Tony Carter; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Flat Shoals Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family extends their appreciation to everyone at LifeBrite Hospital and Stokes County Skilled Nursing Facility for their care and compassion to Bob.

A register book will be available for anyone to sign from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel.
