Obituary: WENDY FORD DAMRON

Wendy Ford Damron, 63, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Annie Penn Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at East Side Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 at the church. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.

Wendy was born in Rockingham County to Peggy Smith Ford the late John Gilbert Ford. She was a graduate of Elon College and was a retiree of UPS as a program manager. As a member of East Side Missionary Baptist Church for 52 years she served in many capacities such as the church pianist and choir director for 20 plus years. Wendy loved to sing for the Lord and was often featured as a soloist at the services. She also was the coordinator of the Vacation Bible School for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends as well as her church family. Wendy sang in the service at church on Father’s Day about her daddy. She now has joined him in heaven. Peggy speaks of her daughter as “her beloved friend”.

She is survived by her mother Peggy Ford; cousin Dwayne Smith and wife Kay and their children Hope and Luke; special daughter Tiffany Land and husband Billy and their children Jarred , Makenzie and Kiley; uncle Buddy Smith; extended family Ashley Perdue and husband Larry and their children Cheyenne Moore and Savanah Perdue and let’s not forget her constant companion, Lacy.
