Joe Arthur Pickard departed this life on Monday afternoon, August 28, 2023.
As a native and resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina for the majority of life, he attended the local public schools and was a retired brick mason by trade. He was also formerly employed by First Baptist Church (Maintenance Division). Known for his gregarious personality, he loved nature, working in his yard, spending time with family and drinking his Pepsi sodas.
We thank God for his beautiful life and precious memories. Glory To God!
His parents, Mollie and Joe Oscar Pickard, preceded him in death.
Survivors are: loving children, Lolita Renae Little (Rodrick), Antangula Pickard and Joe Oscar Pickard (Melina); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Pickard; special friends, Tammy Flippin, Mattie Fulp, “Spud” Cummings and Sandy “Dono” Williams; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted Noon Saturday, September 2, 2023 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street with Dr. Joseph A. Bryant presiding.
His remains are in the care of Johnson & Sons.
