Obituary: BOBBY EUGENE STANLEY

Bobby Eugene Stanley, 80, died on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the church and all other times at the home.
Mr. Stanley was born on July 13, 1943 in Guilford County to the late Thurston Eugene Stanley and Doris Stafford Stanley. Bobby served his country honorably in the United States Army, obtaining the rank of Sergeant in less than two years. He retired from Roadway Trucking after thirty years of service and was a talented welder. Bobby was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at Rocky’s Grocery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Mary Lee Stanley; sister, Carolyn Wood; brother, Gary Stanley and nephew, Josh Stanley.
Survivors include his wife of nearly forty-five years, Janet Clark Stanley; children, Derek Clay Stanley, Dwayne Stanley and Elizabeth Adams (Dustin); grandchildren, Samantha and Scott Adams; brothers, Thomas Stanley (Donna), Donald Stanley and Richard Stanley (Angie) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
