Hubert King departed this life on Monday morning, June 12, 2023.
As a native and resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina for the majority of his life, he attended the local public schools and was a retiree of the Cone Mills Corporation. He attended Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. During his leisure, he enjoyed socializing and watching wrestling events.
His parents, Francis King and Eddie Martin; beloved wife, Alongi Bell Reid; son, Ron Mitchell; siblings, John Galloway, Herbert King, Ann King and Tony Martin, preceded him in death.
Survivors are: loving children, Kristin King, Kevin Hubert King (Chiara) and Kenton Albert King; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Andrea Martin; brothers, Bob Galloway, Jimmy Ray Galloway, Wayne Martin and Eddie Martin; aunt, Juanita King; sisters-in-law, Marchia Reid and Louise Reid; brother-in-law, William Henry Reid; special friends, Rev. Edward Long and Rev. Robert Broadnax; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023 from the Cornerstone Christian Center, 516 North Scales Street with Rev. Edward Long, presiding and Bishop William Allen, eulogist. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. Public viewing will be Thursday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
