Perdita Saunders Walker, 90, of Reidsville, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Gibson House – Hospice of Rockingham County.
Born March 26, 1933 in the Cherry Grove community of Caswell County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late George Norman Saunders and the late Erma Webb Saunders. She was the beloved wife of Charles Lindsey Walker, her loving husband of 70 years.
Perdita graduated from Reidsville High School and Women’s College (UNC-G), where she earned a degree in Physical Education. She taught physical education at Altamahaw-Ossipee School, science and elementary school subjects at Williamsburg School, and science at Reidsville Middle School, before her retirement.
Perdita loved getting together with family and friends to share in and support their current interests. Among her favorite topics of discussion were philosophy, science, and motivational literature. She found great peace visiting quiet coastal communities and walking the shoreline of the Carolinas. She loved music, especially live performances by her favorite artists.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children Charles Eric Walker and wife Kim, of Nashville, TN, Lindsay Walker Clinard and partner Chris, of Reidsville; grandchildren Ian Walker, Everett Harrison, Lucas Harrison, Zachary Harrison, and Nicholas Clinard; and great grandchildren, William, John, and Thomas Walker, Piper, Arya, Evangeline, Drake, and Jackson Harrison, and Monte Perkins.
A private memorial service was held for the family.
