Billy “James” Townsend, 21, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 18th at Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel in Madison.
James was born September 13, 2001 in Rockingham County, NC. He was baptized at the age of 14 at Grace Baptist Church in Eden and had attended several churches with his mother and grandparents through the years. James was a graduate of McMichael High School where he participated in their ROTC program all four years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses and working on cars.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Shough Townsend of the home; brother, Henry Perdue of the home; his step-dad, who James lovingly referred to as “my Junior”, Junior Sizemore; his Aunt “T.C.”; Uncle Adam; Uncle Daniel; and special cousins, Mary Whitfield, Loretta Whitfield and Cassandra Shough.
Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, Benton and Teresa Shough.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Colonial Funeral Home, 127 Ellisboro Road, Madison, NC 27025, to assist with the cost of services.
