Obituary: ANGELO ERWIN GALLOWAY

Angelo Erwin Galloway, the beloved husband of Penny Chambliss Galloway, departed this life on Monday morning, January 23, 2023. 

He was a native of Guilford County, North Carolina and a resident of Rockingham County for the majority of his life.  Angelo was the proprietor of P & L Trucking Company and Backstreet Seafood Market.  Spiritually, he was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as the bass guitar player.  In the community, he actively participated with the Lone Star Lodge No. 33 F&AM (PHA), the Guilford County Night Riders and the Greensboro Bikers Club.  During his leisure, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, proudly driving his Ford F-150 truck and spending time with family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a loyal friend who impacted the lives of many.

His parents, Cathlene Thomas Galloway and Alfred Lee Galloway, preceded him in death. 

Survivors are: beloved wife of 33 years, Penny Chambliss Galloway; daughter, La’Shaun Hayes; sons, D’Angelo Galloway, Henry Hayes, II and Jonathan Galloway; 17 grandchildren; brothers, Keith Galloway, Kavin Galloway (Beverly), Luke Galloway and Rev. Travis Galloway (Virginia); sisters, Rev. Freda Ziglar (Major), Earleen Tinsley, Rev. Sallie Johnson (Robert), Shirleen Greene (Walter), Teresa Smith (Howard) and Karen Galloway; uncle, Floyd Watlington; sisters-in-law, Linda Carol Artis, Donna Kay Chambliss, Sharon Chambliss, Gale Chambliss, Jule Chambliss, LaVaughn Chambliss and Cheyenne Chambliss;  brothers-in-law, Reginald Chambliss, Bruce Chambliss (Min. Robin) and Johnny Chambliss (Billie); special cousins, Gail Price (John), Faye Thomas, Tene Rogers (Jody), Wendy Wingate (Orlando), Cindy Yancey (Darren), Leon Thomas and Michael Thomas; devoted friends, Reginald Chambliss and Leon Thomas; other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 from the Shiloh Baptist Church, 7236 Highway 29 Business with Pastor William Hairston presiding.  The family visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at the church.  Public viewing will be Saturday afternoon at Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street.
