2 Charged Following Search Warrant of Residence Nets Drugs, Firearms, and Cash

(Wentworth, NC) – On Thursday, July 21, 2022, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, working in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security, served a Search Warrant at 149 Ruffin School Rd. Ruffin, N.C.

As a result of this Search Warrant, 258 grams of Fentanyl/Cocaine mix, 14 grams of Fentanyl, 6 grams of Heroin, 10 grams of Cocaine, 7 grams of Crack Cocaine, over $7,300 in U.S. currency and 3 firearms were seized. (One of the 3 firearms seized was discovered to have been stolen.) According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) website, the amount of Fentanyl seized in this Search Warrant is enough to kill 139,000 people, which is more than the total population of Rockingham County North Carolina (est. population of around 93,000). The drugs seized as a result of this Search Warrant have a combined estimated street value of $100,000.

As a result of this investigation, ROBERT DEANGELO REID, 32, of 9815 U.S. 29 Pelham, N.C. was arrested for Trafficking in Opium Level III, Trafficking in Cocaine Level II, Trafficking in Opium Level I, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Cocaine, and Maintaining a Dwelling to Sell Drugs. REID was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $1,000,000 secured bond.

JOHN HENRY ADAMS, JR. 35, of 392 Jennings Blackwell Rd. Pelham, N.C. was also arrested for Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine. ADAMS was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $20,000 secured bond.
