UPDATE – GILL’S ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

(Eden, NC) – On January 11, 2023, Tyler Lewis Martzolf of Claremont, New Hampshire, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon for the Robbery that occurred at Gills Corner on S. Hamilton Rd on January 09, 2023. Martzolf was placed under a $50,000 secured bond and is held at the Rockingham County Jail. Johnson is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on January 24, 2023. The Department is grateful for community members who came forward with information and evidence. Additionally, we are incredibly thankful for the cooperation of Gills Corner, which provided quality video footage which aided in the identification of Martzolf.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. (Eden, NC) – The Eden Police Department Investigations Division is conducting a robbery investigation. Detectives requests assistance from the public in identifying the suspect in the photos below.
On Monday, January 09, 2023, patrol officers were dispatched to Gills Corner (243 S Hamilton Street) for an armed robbery.
Officers arrived on the scene and learned a suspect had entered the store and brandished a semi-automatic pistol at the clerk, demanding money.
The male fled in an unknown direction following the robbery with an undisclosed amount of money. The victims were not injured. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police. The robbery suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’0” tall and approximately 200 lbs. He wore a black jacket with a hood over his head and a handkerchief-type bandana across his face
