Obituary:  WILLIAM “JABO” FULP

By | Published | No Comments

Jabo was born on August 17, 1940, in Forsyth County to the late Edker Fulp and Cattie Bullins Fulp. He was a hard-working man, never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Jabo and his wife, Ardina, operated a small country store and eventually purchased his first wrecker. William Fulp Wrecker Service was formed which he later passed on to his son, Kent. He found great pride in watching Kent and his grandsons continue his legacy in the wrecker business.

Jabo was employed by Wood Brothers Racing for over 25 years. His racing family held a special place in his heart. After retiring, he remained a dedicated fan, always cheering on the 21 car. During his time working for Wood Brothers, Jabo drove many miles hauling the 21 car or anything that was asked of him. Ardina was blessed to ride by his side. Together, they traveled the country, making memories they both cherished.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death brothers Otis Fulp, John Carson Fulp, Silas Fulp and sister Nancy Fulp Whitt.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ardina Whitt Fulp; son and daughter –in-law, Kent and Pamela Fulp; grandchildren Luke Fulp (Morgan), Landon Fulp (Cana), Logan Fulp (Ashleigh Washburn) and Cody Tedder; great-grandchildren Harper Fulp, Conner Fulp, and Landrie Fulp; brother Allie Ray Fulp (Vernell).
