Robert “Bob” Dean Tibbs, 86, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at North Pointe of Mayodan.
A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Ray Funeral Home with Pastors Paul Sisk, Michael Lindsay, and Thomas Hazelwood officiating. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Bob was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa on June 15, 1937, to the late Lloyd and Hazel Stuart Tibbs. He worked as a truck driver at Yellow Freight for over 35 years and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was also a veteran in the United States National Guard. Bob was a loving husband and a hard worker. He loved his church, witnessing to people about the Lord, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Frances “Franny” Chatman Tibbs; his sister, Lauren Tibbs; and his brothers, Daryl and Lloyd Tibbs.
Those left to cherish his memory are his stepchildren, Betty Jean Dunlap of Stoneville, David Anderson of Whitsett, and Mike Anderson of Pinnacle; nine step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren; and his niece and caregiver, Hilda Money of Stokesdale.
