Richard Pearson Ware, 66, of Reidsville, went home to be with The Lord, Friday, February 3, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Duane King officiating. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at Ashley’s home (105 Gayleway Court, Reidsville).

Ricky was born in Rockingham County and lived his whole life in Reidsville. He graduated from Wentworth high school in 1975, worked for Zarn from 1976-2000 and later retired from Lorillard with over 15 years of service. He was a master craftsman with wood working building many clocks with intricate detail. Ricky was an accomplished beekeeper following his dad’s footsteps. They were also founding members of the Antique Engine Association together. From his first diagnosis in 1999, Ricky lived victoriously with strength and courage through his first battle with leukemia and never faltered during his more recent struggle with lung cancer. He was an avid sportsman, especially fishing and he you could most often find him in his shop, surrounded by his thousands of tools… his happy place. Ricky was such a sweet guy with a heart of gold. Sometimes he could appear to be stand offish, but once you got past that, he was such a friendly guy with so much to say. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Ware.

Survivors include his wife Pam Ware of 43 years; daughter Ashley Harris (William Harris); grandchildren Norah and Mason Harris; mother Beatrice Gillespie; and sisters Cynthia Cresenzo (Mark) and Dawnn Saul (Ronald) and a large extended family.
