Obituary: CLAIRE CARTER CASE

Claire Carter Case, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Annie Penn Hospital.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Trent Cemetery with Reverend Torrey Easler officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Case was born on September 15, 1934 in Sacramento, California to the late Harry John Lehman and Myrtle Elizabeth Rosenberger Lehman. She was a former member of Mayodan First Baptist Church and a current member of Woodbine Baptist Church. Claire was a remarkable woman who brought joy to others through her giving and loving nature. She lived simply and loved greatly and will forever be remembered for her loyalness, as well as her love of reading, crocheting and cooking for others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Jennings Carter; sisters, Hazel Jernigan, Beverly Westcott and Sally Tackett.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Case; children, Lynn Flowers (Steve), Nick Carter (Kristi), Randy Carter (Beth), Danny Carter, Teresa Case Robertson (Joey), Brad Case (Susan) and Tracy Case Blackard; grandchildren, Kory Flowers, Titia Carter Leonard, Kevin Wimbish, Kasey Flowers Mitchell, Carla Carter Winrow, Nicholas Carter, Erin Carter Standhart, Justin Case, Jake Robertson, Kristin Case Kennedy, Anna Carter, Claire Mosley, George Carter III, Lehman Carter, Robert Carter, Austin Case, Casey Blackard, Lexi Blackard, Brody Blackard and Bradyn Case; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Neeley of Sacramento, CA and special friend, Betty Lawson.
