Brenda Watkins Taylor, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 25, 2024, in Rockingham County, at the age of 65. She was born on November 4, 1958, in Rockingham County, to the late Thomas and Jean Watkins.
Brenda dedicated many years of her life to her work, spending 20 years at Fieldcrest Mills and another 12 years at Merita Bakery Store. Her commitment and hard work were evident to all who knew her.
Outside of her professional life, Brenda found joy in various activities. She loved shopping, going on beach trips, and cherishing precious moments with her family. Her warm presence and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jean Watkins, as well as her sister, Donna Carter, and brother, Randy Watkins. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, James Darryl Taylor, whom she married on February 3, 1984, in Eden, North Carolina. Brenda also leaves behind her son, Tony Hines, and his wife Jamie, as well as her stepdaughter, Lisa Taylor. Her six grandchildren and one great-grandchild brought immense joy to her life.
In addition, Brenda is survived by her sister, Barbara Brown, her brother, Curtis Watkins, and sister-in-law, Cathy Watkins. Their love and support provided comfort during difficult times.
While we mourn the loss of Brenda Watkins Taylor, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the impact she made on those around her. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
